Whakatane Man Charged Over Murupara Police Station Break-In

A 55-year-old Whakatāne man has been charged after a break-in at the Murupara Police station.



He's due to appear in the Rotorua District Court today, charged with committing burglary with a weapon and intentional damage.


Acting Bay of Plenty District Commander, Inspector Lincoln Sycamore said enquiries are ongoing and further charges are possible.


Sycamore said the station has been secured and “repairs will begin as soon as possible.”
