Two Arrested Following Him.Her Whakatāne Burglary

Two people have now been arrested following yesterday morning's burglary at him.her on The Strand in Whakatāne.


Latest update from Senior Sergeant Al Fenwick in Whakatane Neighbourhood Support's Weekly Crime Report revealed two offenders have been arrested and are before the Youth and District Court.


Fenwick believes the offenders are aged 17 and 18.


"The pair have also been charged with a Rotoma burglary." Fenwick added to the report.


"There was a whole lot of offending that happened across the whole Bay of Plenty we think they're linked to, so there may be further charges to come," Fenwick adds.


Police were called to the scene at him.her at 5.50am yesterday following a report of people entering a premises.


The pair stole clothing from the store after smashing the front door.


The Weekly Crime Report also notes a Subaru Impreza stolen from Valley Road was used in the him.her burglary. The car was then recovered on Mill Road.
