Bay of Plenty workers experienced their biggest annual pay increase in a decade.
Stats NZ data released yesterday revealed median weekly salary and wage earnings rose 11.1% to $1187 in the year to the June 2022 quarter.
It's the biggest annual increase since 2012.
Women's median weekly earnings in Bay of Plenty rose 9.2% to $1016, while men's rose 3.8% to $1350.
Nationally, median weekly earnings from wages and salaries rose by 8.8% to $1,189, the largest annual increase on record.
The median weekly earnings for women also saw the highest annual percentage increase on record, rising 9.9% to $1,055.
Median weekly earnings for men went up 5.9% to $1,320.
