State Highway 30 west of Lake Rotomā has re-opened after a two-vehicle crash, that left one person with critical injuries.
Eastern Bay Road Policing Manager Sergeant Shane Tailby said the road is now open.
Tailby said Police would like to thank motorists for their patience and “remind them to drive to the conditions.
The crash happened around 9:20am west of Manawahe Road, with a witness telling
1XX News the crash involved a car and truck.
A St John spokesperson said two ambulances, one rapid response vehicle and one helicopter are at the scene.
“One patient in a critical condition was transported via road to Rotorua Hospital,” St John said.
The road was closed for several hours while Police carried out a crash investigation.
