Trust claims not enough info made public in EBET takeover bid

A Maori Trust says it's taking the Eastern Bay Energy Trust to Court because the public doesn't know why the trust is trying to take over Horizon Energy.

Trustees of Te Mana O Ngati Rangitihi Trust have sought an interim injunction on polling results for the take-over, claiming the public consultation was inadequate.

Te Mana O Ngati Rangitihi chairman Graham Pryor says the public should have been given more information about why the take-over was happening, and who will benefit from it.

But Energy Trust Chairman David Bulley says plenty of information has been made available.

He says they've put a lot of effort into advertising, sending out letters and having Trustees talk to beneficiaries on a day to day basis.

David Bulley says they've done everything they can to inform the public.
